RCMP have 2 men in custody after shots fired at Red Deer Trailer park

Two men are in custody after a drunken shooting spree at a Red Deer trailer park on April 17.

At around 4 a.m., Red Deer City RCMP were called by numerous people concerning gunshots at a mobile home community in north Red Deer.

Corporal Kathe DeHeer of the Red Deer RCMP says when police arrived at the scene, they quickly determined that there had been gunfire in the area, the Mustang Acres trailer park off 67 St. in Red Deer.

Police allege that an adult man, who was drunk, shot several rounds from a long barreled firearm inside his home.  Several rounds went through the walls of the trailer and into two neighbouring homes.  At one of the nearby homes, shots pierced the bedroom walls where people were sleeping.

RCMP contained the residence where the shots had originated and the Red Deer Emergency Response Team was called in to assist.

Two suspects were arrested at the home.  A 39-year old man and a 69-year old man are both in custody and the investigation is continuing.
