Virgil Thomas facing manslaughter charge in Tachie Reserve homicide

During the morning hours of April 21, 2012, Fort St James RCMP were called concerning an unresponsive man outside of a home on the Tachie Reserve.

When officers arrived, they found the man, deceased, outside a home.  North District Major Crime Section, BC Coroners Service and RCMP Forensic Identification Services were called to the scene and an investigation ensued.  The victim has been identified as Alfred Joseph Jr.

Constable Lesley Smith of the North District RCMP says police arrested Virgil Hummingbird Thomas in connection with the death of Alfred Joseph Jr., of the Tachie Reserve.

Thomas made his first appearance in court on Tuesday, April 24.
