RCMP and Provincial Search and Rescue teams have found no trace of missing couple
On April 15 and 16, Alberta and B.C. Search and Rescue teams, along with volunteers driving the back roads in the area, searched for the missing Fort Mcleod couple. Jacob and Anja Oosterwijk have been missing since Saturday, April 14 when they left their home for a day trip to Fernie, B.C.
The RCMP Search and Rescue partners and RCMP Air Division have searched the vast area between Fort Mcleod and Fernie and have found nothing. Search and Rescue efforts will continue on both sides of the border and RCMP will continue to follow up tips on the missing mom and dad of five.

The Oosterwijks have five children, ranging in age from six to 22. The family and community are deeply concerned for the well being of the couple. The RCMP again ask that anyone living in the southwest corner of Alberta and southeast corner of B.C. to watch for the Oosterwijks and their vehicle, a 1997 green Honda CRV with an Alberta licence plate BCC7195.
Jacob Oosterwijk is described as a Caucasian man, 6′ tall with a medium build. He wears glasses and is bald with a close shaved beard. He was wearing blue jeans with a brown leather jacket and dark brown baseball cap with a logo on it. Anja Oosterwijk is a 5’7″ Caucasian woman with a medium build. She wears glasses, has short dark brown hair and was wearing either blue jeans or a blue skirt with a dark blue 3/4 length winter coat.
