Calgary Police are releasing a composite drawing of a man suspected of attempting to abduct a young girl as she was walking in a quiet neighbourhood in southwest Calgary.

The incident occurred at about 6 p.m., when two girls, aged nine and ten, were walking along 28 Ave S.W., in the 3400 block.  A four door car pulled up and stopped at the curb on 28 Ave and a man got out of the car.  The man then walked up behind the nine-year old, who was a few steps behind the ten-year old, and grabbed her from behind.

The young girl was lifted off the ground by the man, but she fought back.  She began to kick and scream and the man dropped her.  He then ran to his car and fled the scene.  The two girls then ran to the victim’s house where they told the young girl’s parents about the man.

Calgary Police arrived and tried to find the man, but the suspect was not located.

The car the suspect was driving is described as a 1990’s beige or gold four-door car with three lines down the side, which may be a moulding.  The seats were fabric and the licence plate may have an “X” in it.
