Calgary Fire Department urges Calgarians to maintain their smoke alarms

The Calgary Fire Department is crediting a working smoke alarm for alerting a resident to a fire in his home.  The man got out and fire fighters were able to save two dogs from his home.

The fire occurred during the early morning hours at a home in the 4300 block of 37 Ave S.W.
