Three arrested in string of NW Calgary armed robberies

Two adults and a youth arrested in connection with NW Calgary armed robberies
Three young men have been arrested and are facing charges in connection with several armed robberies in the northwest quadrant of Calgary.
Harris James Howard, 18, of Calgary has been charged with seven counts of robbery with a firearm and five counts of being disguised with intent. 19-year old Kute Mwangi of Calgary is charged with three counts of robbery with a firearm and three counts of public mischief. A 17-year old male youth who cannot be named has been charged with one count of robbery with a firearm and one count of disguised with intent.
The three join 18-year old Dillon Green who was previously charged in connection with the robbery at the Esso store on Country Hills Blvd., on December 3, 2011. Green was arrested the night of the robbery at the Esso convenience store.
Calgary Police say tips from the public were an enormous help to investigators who have been working on the robbery cases for the past three months. Calgary Police Service District 7 General Investigations Unit along with the District Operations Team executed several search warrants during the investigation.
The young men are charged in connection with a robbery on Monday, November 28 at Dalhousie Liquor Depot. They are also charged in relation to a robbery at an Esso store located at 6510 Country Hills Blvd N.W., on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Following those robberies, there were three more alleged robberies at the Dalhousie Liquor Depot on Dalhousie Drive. These robberies occurred on Saturday, December 10, 2011, Sunday, December 11, 2011 and Saturday, January 21, 2012.
Police are still looking for more suspects they believe were involved in the armed robberies and are continuing their investigation.
