Randy Adams facing three charges
52-year old Randy Adams of Red Deer is facing three child pornography related charges after police seized electronic devices allegedly containing child pornography from a Red Deer home in early March.
The investigation into the child pornography began after a found property complaint was filed with the Red Deer City RCMP. Corporal Kathe DeHeer of the Red Deer City RCMP says a member of the general public handed over found property that allegedly contained child pornography to police.
The Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit, which is made up of officers from the Calgary Police Service, Medicine Hat Police Service, Lethbridge Regional Police Service and the RCMP, all assisted in the investigation.
On March 8, 2012, a search warrant was executed at a home in Red Deer where police seized several electronic devices including computers.
Randy Adams of Red Deer has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography, one count of accessing child pornography and one count of making child pornography.
Adams was released from custody and will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on March 20, 2o12. There are numerous conditions on Adams’ release, including restricting contact with children under the age of 16 and he cannot possess any device capable of accessing the internet.
