Suspicious death investigated by Airdrie and Calgary RCMP

The body of a man was found on the morning of Tuesday, March 20, southeast of the Cross Iron Mills Mall.

At about 10 a.m., Airdrie RCMP, EMS and Rockyview Fire Department all responded to the scene; they discovered the man, estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old laying beside Cross Iron Drive.  The emergency workers attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Patty Neely of the Airdrie RCMP says “the matter is considered to be suspicious in nature.  Rural RCMP and the Calgary RCMP Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate”.

The investigation into the man’s death has meant that the road between Dwight McLellan Trail and Range Road 292 remains closed to traffic.
