Lights, crossing arm activated at time of accident

A Manitoba man is in critical condition and two other people were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries after the pickup truck they were in collided with a CP Rail train in Olds.
Olds RCMP, Fire Department and Provincial EMS were all called out to the accident that occurred just before midnight at the intersection of 50 Ave and 50 St.
Corporal Warren Wright of the Didsbury RCMP says police believe the GMC pickup truck was heading west on 50 St when it collided with the southbound locomotive. At the time of the collision, the crossing arms and flashing lights and bells were all activated and flashing.
There were three people in the truck at the time of the collision. An 18-year old man from Manitoba who was seated in the front passenger seat had to be flown by STARS Air Ambulance to Calgary. He remains in critical condition. The driver was a 20-year old woman from Edmonton and the second occupant of the truck was a 20-year old man from Ontario. Both were taken to Olds Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Olds RCMP, along with the assistance of an RCMP collision analyst and CP Rail Police are investigating the crash.
Names of the injured are being withheld at this time.
