Tip called in about suspicious document
Sorting plant shut down during busiest season of the year
Red Deer City RCMP received at complaint about a suspicious document at the Canada Post Sorting Plant in the central city at about 10 a.m., Wednesday.
RCMP then evacuated employees from the plant as well as blocked roads into and near the plant for safety. Constable Julie Letal of the Red Deer City RCMP says police searched the plant with the assistance of an RCMP Service Dog. The dog found nothing suspicious and, as of yet, no suspects have been identified.
The RCMP are continuing to investigate.
