Fashion with compassion event to support breast cancer patients

| September 16, 2011 | 0 Comments

The Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation’s (BCSCF) annual Fashion with Compassion will be taking place on September 24, 2011.

Held at the BMO Centre on the Stampede Grounds, patients, supporters, family and friends get together to enjoy an afternoon of fashion, food and fun while raising funds to support breast cancer patients as they transition from illness to healing and health.

Fashion with Compassion features models who have directly benefited from programming at BCSCF. The models will be strutting the catwalk in the latest fall fashions from Ducks Fashions and Ed Williams Menswear. The event will also feature a luncheon, live and silent auction and amazing prizes.

Last year, Fashion with Compassion raised over $120,000, which went directly to supporting programs at BCSCF. To date, BCSCF has seen over 2,000 women and families through its doors.

“Every year, Fashion with Compassion helps women from across Calgary and Southern Alberta  find hope out of a devastating diagnosis and provides them with supportive care as they navigate their cancer journey,” said Kate McBrearty, Executive Director of BCSCF. “We come together for a fun-filled afternoon filled with fashion, great prizes, good food, wonderful friends and fabulous models. It’s a wonderful celebration!”
