West Shore RCMP have arrested a young person in connection with arson at the Savory Elementary School on September 11, 2011. A second suspect, Jordan Deluca, age 19 has turned himself in to custody on September 19.
The investigation was lead by RCMP officers at the West Shore Detachment in the city of Victoria after the fire at the school. The young person was arrested on September 14 at around 9:30 a.m.
The arrested suspect is a youth as set out by the Youth Criminal Justice Act and cannot be identified. The youth has been released from custody and must abide by a number of conditions. The youth has been charged with arson and will appear in court on September 28 at the Western Communities Courthouse.
