Man arrested after pointing rifle at son

Police were called to a home in Bowness on Wednesday evening after a man pointed a rifle at his adult son during a domestic dispute.

The son managed to wrestle the rifle away from the man and he and his mother left the house in the 2000 block of Bowness Rd N.W., and waited for police to arrive at the scene.  When the police officers arrived at the the home, the offender was arrested without incident.  The name of the suspect is being withheld to protect the identity of the victims.

The man is now facing numerous weapons charges and assault charges. Officers seized two rifles from the home during the arrest.  Fortunately, no one was injured during the dispute.
