CTrain crash victim named
Riazul Islam Bhuiyan, 35, of Calgary has been identified as the man who was killed when he was hit by a CTrain in the northeast on Tuesday.
The accident occurred at 8:40 a.m., at the intersection of 36 St N.E. and 39 Ave N.E.
The LRT was heading north when the victim stepped out in front of the train and was struck by the moving CTrain. Bhuiyan died at the scene of the accident.
Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash. The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating and is asking for anyone that may have witnessed the incident to contact Sergeant Wood at 403-567-4000.
