Man brandishing machete and rifle arrested
A 47 year-old Morley man has been arrested and is facing various assault and weapons charges after the RCMP were called in to a home on the Stoney First Nation in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
RCMP report that three people, a man and two women were assaulted by a man brandishing a machete and a rifle. Cochrane RCMP responded and called in the Calgary RCMP Emergency Response Team for support. The combined RCMP forces were able to peacefully arrest the 47 year old man from Morley.
The man is now facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm and several other firearms related offences.
The three people who were injured in the assault were transported to hospital where they received treatment for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
