Brad Wilson of Drumheller killed in fatal motorcycle accident on Highway 2
Brad Wilson, 33 of Drumheller was killed on Sunday evening when a car making a left hand turn onto Highway 2, north of the Aldersyde overpass, crashed into his bike.
The accident occurred at around 6:30 p.m., at the intersection of Highway 2 and 338 Avenue. A man driving a 2002 Acura was attempting to cross Highway 2, eastbound. Witnesses say he came to a complete stop to allow southbound traffic to clear the intersection and then he proceeded to the meridian where he didn’t see the Wilson’s motorcycle and proceeded onto the highway. The motorcycle struck the side of the car as the car travelled into the path of the motorcycle.
Brad Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Neither the driver of the car nor his passenger were injured in the accident. The investigation is into the crash ongoing. Okotoks RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact them at (403) 938-4202. Police do not believe alcohol nor speed to be factors in this crash.
Northbound traffic on Highway 2 was restricted to one lane for about 4 hours on Sunday evening to allow for a collision reconstructionist to investigate the scene.

What a true shame, it is so sad to have this same situation occur year after year. When will motorists realize that they need to pay attention to motorcyclists on the roads? I am certain that 99% of all collisions with motorcycles is due to motor vehicles either turning left in front of the motorcycle or trying to cross a road (as in this situation) thinking they can “beat the bike”. These people should be charged with manslaughter…
If he had seen him he wouldn’t have gone.
Bottom line is are bikes are hard to see, and 9 times out of 10 the bike is the one speeding. I’m not justifying that this was no ones fault but there are 2 stories here.
The driver is 19 years old, he doesn’t have a criminal record, doesn’t do drugs, or even speed and now he’s facing 6 months in prison. This is a tragic situation on both ends.
In response to “so sad”…what a bunch on BS that is..if you knew the facts about this accident then you would know that the kid SAW him and was warned not once but twice even! He was trying to beat the bike..it cost someone their life..the biker did nothing wrong..let me repeat that..NOTHING WRONG! Your “friend” got off with nothing!! Your buddy was never tested for drugs or booze and was let go with no tests..do you think the person who was lying in the morgue on a table was so lucky?? So learn all that is involved with this before you go speaking on something you obviously know nothing about!
I agree, it is a true shame! I can’t imagine what his family must be going through. It saddens me to think that this man died and the kid who took his life will walk away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist!
